Openwave Mobility CEO Elected to the CTIA Board of Directors

John Giere, President and CEO of Openwave Mobility has been elected to serve as representative to the CTIA Board of Directors

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.– October 16, 2013Openwave Mobility, a software innovator enabling operators to manage and monetize mobile data, today announced that President and CEO John Giere has been elected to the CTIA Board of Directors for 2014. John Giere’s appointment to serve as a representative was announced at MobileCON 2013™ in San Jose, California.

CTIA is an international industry trade group based in Washington D.C. representing the wireless communications industry. John Giere will represent interests of suppliers in the mobile industry on the 38-member CTIA Board.

With over 20 years of wireless industry experience, Giere is well placed to work with others on the CTIA Board of Directors in guiding its involvement with the government and end users. At Openwave Mobility, Giere has overseen the development of video optimization software, subscriber data management software and new mobile data monetization solutions. This is the second time that he has been elected to the CTIA Board of Directors.

CTIA is a non-profit organization that coordinates voluntary efforts to provide end consumers with a variety of choices and information about wireless products and services. As an elected member of the 2014 CTIA Board of Directors, John Giere will also be involved in developing and implementing a number of industry initiatives such as which helps people with disabilities, seniors and their families to find a cell phone and service that suits them.
