The countdown is on!

In just under a month, on October 18, we will kick off the inaugural Mobile Video Industry Council at London’s Tower Hotel. as we debate effective strategies for mobile video on 4G and 5G networks.  If you are working in the field of mobile video this is the opportunity to connect with your peers and indeed, expand your professional network.

The day includes real-life case studies from mobile operators, an exclusive OTT session and insightful roundtables hosted by key industry analysts. Here are 3 highlights:

News from the frontline – mobile operators

Join the editor of The Mobile Network, Keith Dyer, as he interviews operators “on the frontline”. Learn from the likes of Telus, MTS and Vodafone as they share their recent experiences and lessons managing video traffic. Hear about their cloud-based video programs, success stories of monetization and cost reduction, competitive strategies to manage OTT content and the transition to 5G.

View from the other side – OTTs

The Council will hear the unique perspective from Hulu, one of the world’s largest content providers and BT Sport, one of Europe’s largest sports broadcasters.  Learn about the business models that have worked well for OTT and carrier partnerships and why some mobile operators are getting it right – while so many are left out in the cold.

Join insightful analyst roundtables – independent analysts

We have three industry roundtables un by independent analysts ABI Research, Analysis Mason, and Strategy Analytics exploring themes critical to the operator business.

  • Be part of the roundtable hosted by Analysys Mason’s Gorkem Yigit to examine the real state of NFV amongst operators. Is the reality of NFV cutting through the hype and is it really delivering? The roundtable will include discussions around service orchestration, GiLAN, DPI, automation, system performance and last but not least – security.
  • If 5G and video is top of mind for you, join Dimitris Mavrakis from ABI Research to discuss the video opportunities and the challenges in 5G. How will OTTs react to 5G, what is the impact for operator? How will edge computing change the mobile video landscape and which companies in the 5G ecosystem will gain and lose?
  • Strategy Analytics’ Brice Longnos will explore how to maximize the RAN and revenues. Attend this roundtable and gain insight on what business models work best for you and how to manage your subscribers’ insatiable appetite for videos while balancing Quality of Experience requirements.

Connect with your peers

The day concludes with a networking dinner. Prior to that, join your peers for canapés and craft beer tasting with a difference. The gamified brew-tasting evening from The Tasting Quarter will be entertaining and engaging as you try beers from different markets and compete to win! All the fun aside, it is yet another opportunity for senior executives to connect with their peers and expand their professional network.

We hope you can join us in London on October 18. The Mobile Video Industry Council is complimentary (including accommodation) and is open to senior mobile operator professionals and if you are interested in attending, register your interest.
