This week marks the second anniversary of Openwave Mobility launching as an independent company and what a great journey we’ve had so far! It’s been a significant year for us with product launches, new customers on-boarded, strategic partner agreements and numerous industry accolades.
To kick start the beginning of our second year, we launched the latest edition of our cloud-based Mobile Analytics solution, empowering operators with a tool for utilizing NFV and SDN flow control in order to drive concentrated user engagement in the data path, allowing them to create new revenue streams through actionable insights.
At Mobile World Congress 2014, we unveiled MOTIFY and launched DynaMO. MOTIFY empowers operators to offer subscriber-relevant promotions based on individual data trends but more importantly, it evolves customer engagement to the next level and helps to secure new revenue streams not previously possible. DynaMO is an industry first, NFV-ready audio, HD-video and media optimization solution that enhances video, audio and web content. Using this mobile operators can properly manage rising bandwidth traffic caused by HD video and audio streaming, both of which constitute the fastest growing mobile content formats.
Mobile World Congress
Openwave Mobility was offered the prestigious opportunity to address attendees at this year’s Barcelona congress. We had the privilege of taking center stage with C Spire’s CEO Hu Meena, to present a case study on driving new revenues and relationships for operators and brands through the deployment of our award-winning Promotions and Pricing Innovation (PPI) solution. By launching PPI, C Spire experienced a 20 percent decrease in customer churn while increasing their revenue streams, an achievement we were excited to share with our peers at the event.
I am happy to report that as of July of last year, our Smart User Repository (SUR) Subscriber Data Management (SDM) solution well exceeded 300 million SDM subscribers worldwide. As the industry’s highest performing solution, SUR streamlines the process of attaining actionable intelligence from data in operator networks.
This past September, a Tier-1 Asia Pacific telecommunications operator ran controlled trails of our Media Optimization solution, the DynaMo, and found that user experience improved by 35 percentage points. This underscores that mobile content which played immediately and smoothly, and web pages that load faster, is preferable, even at the expense of marginal visual degradation.
Openwave Mobility commanded attention on many occasions in year two, beginning with Frost & Sullivan listing the company in their Top 10 Companies to Watch in 2013. Later in April, TMCNet, SDN Zone and Internet Telephony magazine honored us with the prestigious Excellence in SDN Vendor Award; now for two years in a row! It is a real privilege to have our peers and industry pundits deem Integra, the world’s first Layer 7 SDN- & NFV-enabled VAS platform, worthy of such an accolade.
At Openwave Mobility, our partners are very dear to us, and pivotal to our cause. With world-class partners like Huawei and Cisco, our range of customer support and product innovation embodies an internationally comprehensive reach. In February, we had the honor of being highlighted by Cisco as one of the first and foremost technology companies to endorse NFV, allowing operators to unify their complete network architecture. Symbiotic in our integration, Openwave Mobility continues to meld seamlessly with Cisco ESP to offer the best integrated and virtualized L2-L7 solutions to customers.
As we begin the eventful voyage into our third year, I want to take this time to thank the entire Openwave Mobility ecosystem – customers, partners, vendors, and especially employees – for supporting the company and helping to get it where it is today. Knowing that we can achieve so much is just two years assures me that Openwave Mobility is on the right trajectory to innovation, evolution, progress – and anything else the future holds for us!
