John Giere, President and CEO
John Giere has over 20 years of wireless industry management experience in sales, product management, marketing and business development. Prior to his role as President and CEO of Openwave Mobility, John served as GM of the mediation business unit for Openwave Systems. Before Openwave Systems, John served as CMO for Alcatel-Lucent and CMO at Lucent Technologies. Before joining Lucent in 2003, John worked for Ericsson in various strategic marketing and business development roles. John currently serves on the Board of Sonim Technologies. He holds a MBA from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University.
Mark Kent, Interim Chief Financial Officer
Mark Kent brings over 30 years of financial experience to the position of Interim CFO of Openwave Mobility. He has a strong track record of executive financial management leadership in multiple sectors, including enterprise software, intellectual property, manufacturing and semiconductors. Kent specializes on companies with high-growth needs and in turn around situations.
Over the past 14 years, he has served as chief financial officer to several venture-backed and publicly traded high technology companies, including three years as a CFO-in-residence with a top-tier venture firm, Oak Investment Partners. Several of the companies have had successful IPOs and acquisitions, including Ramtron, RPX Corporation, Insitu, Sigma Designs, Transmeta, Talisma, Knowledge Networks, Securant, and Crossworlds Software. Prior to his career as a CFO, Kent was Treasurer of LSI Logic Corporation. He spent his early finance career as a commercial banker focused on emerging growth technology companies.
Kent received his B.S. degree in Finance from Colorado State University.
Dean Liming, Vice President of Services and Support
Dean Liming has over 25 years of services experience specializing in software in the telecommunications industry with a focus on mobile data and billing solutions. Prior to his position as Vice President of Services and Support at Openwave Mobility, Dean was the Vice President of Global Professional Services at Tellabs. Dean has held management positions at Lucent, Kenan Systems, and US West Communications, and served on the Professional Services Board at Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Regis University where he graduated magna cum laude.
Ian Gillott, Chief Information Officer
Ian Gillott has over 30 years of management experience, including positions in senior IT management for companies including Santos, Deloitte, Mincom, and Ausenco. Before joining Openwave Mobility, Ian served as Global Director of Business Systems and Information Technology for Ausenco, where he synthesized the IT operations of five different companies into one cohesive organization. Prior to Ausenco, Ian was CIO and Director of Defense Solutions for Mincom, a global engineering asset management software company. At Santos, Ian acted as Manager of Innovation and Business Improvement, where he managed the development of the company’s strategic IT direction with regard to future services and the external environment. Ian has held several other management positions in IT and information services. Ian also served in the Australian Army for 20 years, climbing the ranks from an Army Apprentice to the Senior Operations Officer of a multinational peacekeeping force on Bougainville (PNG). He received his MBA from the University of New England.
Indranil Chatterjee, VP Product Management, Marketing & Strategy
Indranil Chatterjee has over 15 years of experience in product management, marketing, strategy and software development in the mobile communications and IT industries. Prior to joining Openwave Systems, Indranil was director of product management at Syniverse Technologies, responsible for new product development for wireless applications and mobile analytics. Before joining Syniverse, he served as Director of Wireless Solutions for Alcatel-Lucent. Indranil is a member of the Board of Governors of 4G Americas. He holds a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – BHU, India, and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Matt Halligan, Vice-President of Engineering
Matt Halligan has over 17 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has held a range of technical and management roles within Research & Development. Prior to his current role of Vice-President of Engineering at Openwave Mobility, he was Vice-President for Engineering within Openwave Systems, responsible for all R&D functions for the Mobile business, management of 180 engineers across the globe and site management of the Belfast facility. Before joining Openwave Systems in 2002, Matt spent 7 years at Nortel and was the Chief Software Architect for Nortel’s NITEC R&D facility, with responsibility for SDH optical networks software solutions. Matt graduated with first class BEng honors degree.
Ramsey Masri, Senior Vice President, Sales and Alliances
Ramsey Masri is Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Openwave Mobility where he is responsible for leading global sales, pre-sales and alliances. Ramsey has led global sales, services and alliances in the mobile and fixed telecom sector for nearly 20 years. Prior to his role at Openwave Mobility, Ramsey was Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Aylus Networks, the leading provider of infrastructure software enabling live mobile video services. In this role, he was directly responsible for creating the sales and go-to-marketing strategies, and identifying partner ecosystems that led to a successful series C funding round for Aylus.
Ramsey’s background also includes senior sales management positions with MFORMATION, a global provider of mobile device management (MDM) technology, Critical Path where he was responsible for revenue growth from direct and channel sales and Oracle Corporation where he formed lasting relationships with carriers and strategic partners worldwide while leading telecom sales. He actively serves as a board advisor to start-up companies in the mobile content space.
